    A Coconut Fiber Coir Raincoat
    and Sandals
    This piece was purchased in a market in
    Guangdong Province
    Southern China in 2006.
    It is framed nicely in a 3 ft 11 inch wide
    by 4 ft 4 inch tall finished frame.
    It is attached to the frame by screws so there is
    no damage to the items. It has
    metal wall hangers and is ready for display.
    It is a museum quality piece. They were
    very common in the 1920s, and according
    to experts they were in use by farmers
    up to the 1950s. It was recently appraised
